New on the market! VLights is new innovative technology that takes the hair extensions game to a whole new level! Unlike tape-ins and wefts that have "tracks", VLights attaches extensions hair to your individual hairs! Kind of like lash extensions you're familiar with those. As a tape-in extensions technician, I can't tell you know many times I have women ask if we can add tape-ins to their bangs to create fullness, or to the top of their heads for scalp coverage, and unfortunately the answer is "no", the wefts will always be visible. VLights are perfect for adding length and thickness to the bangs, crown and face framing, and there are no heavy wefts involved to put stress on those delicate fine strands of hair. Vlights extensions will be available at Elevations Hair Design soon. Contact Kristy at (503)713-7202 for details

Book your appointment today and join the hair color revolution! OLAPLEX’s patented technology has created the 4-IN-1 Moisture Mask, which made with professional-strength ceramides, oils, and 11 vital amino acids. This is an in salon treatment that will transform your hair! It smooths, eliminates frizz, repairs damage. I, personally, love using the the Olaplex No. 4 clarifying shampoo first, which removes any product build up and excess oil, then following it up with 10 minutes with the 4 in 1 treatment. I have also used just a smidge (like a pea size) of the this as a leave in conditioner, applied while my hair is wet. Mind. Blown. On the flip side, Olaplex No.8 (Intense Repair Moisture Mask) will give you the same or very similar results except this a the DIY home version of the product. It comes in a 3.3 fl. oz. bottle and costs about $30. Again, I'd recommend using the No.4 clarifying shampoo, ALSO AROUND $30, first and then follow up with the moisture mask for 10+ min.
So basically 4 in 1 vs. No.8?? WIN. WIN. We have officially moved to our new location!
We are located at 4475 SW Scholls Ferry Road, Ste 266, Portland 97225 After much thought and deliberation, we have decided to relocate Elevations Hair Design! Don't worry, our new location is less than a quarter of a mile from our current location.
Jen Bean and I have decided to rent a space at the West Hills Plaza next to the McMenamin's Raleigh Hills Pub on SW Scholls Ferry Road. Our address as of FEBRUARY 1, 2022 will be: 4475 SW Scholls Ferry Rd, Portland Suite 266 We will text/email reminder notifications closer to your February appointment with details on parking, suite location etc. Easy hair doesn't have to look frumpy. Many of us are seeing less people, working from home, not getting dressed (aka living in yoga pants and sweats), not styling our hair and faces. For ladies with medium to long hair, a ponytail or topknot might be your "go to" right now. But a well executed messy bun can actually look cute and intentional, and less like a lazy go to. This messy bun tutorial is one of the better ones out there in my opinion as far as easy DIY's go. In addition to this tutorial's technique, I've found the hair coil bands and Sexy Hair dry shampoo (which I sell at Elevations Hair Design for $16 if you're local to Portland) work wonders for securing a cute messy bun. I typically cut a few random face-framing pieces to complete the messy bun look, but please don't DIY those! reach out to your Stylist to make those happen! It's true! Schwartzkopf Color 10 provides the same great permanent root coverage in a fraction of the time. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love catching up with my clients during their usual 45 minute processing time, but I'd venture to say most of my gals these days would rather shave 30 minutes off their service time so they can get back to...life! During these "corona-times" it seems like we have less time in a day to get sh*t done, between working from home, home schooling kids, plus doing all the usual "life stuff", carving out time for yourself is a challenge. Don't put off your color appointment any longer. Get in and get it done!
Using an innovative amino acid carrier technology, Schwartzkopf Color 10 is quick, it covers, and keeps you looking and feeling more like yourself! Contact Kristy today for a free color consultation! (503)713-7202
Latisse, Revitalash, Lash Boost...All brands you've probably heard of that have been responsible for the increasing market of the lash growth game. I'll admit, at first I was a skeptic.
One of my long-time clients started selling Rodan & Fields and using the Lash Boost on herself. Her lashes were beautiful, so I promptly order some Lash Boost for $135 (which is the auto ship price, yikes) and away I went. Within 8 weeks, I too had longer lashes. At that point I had only used a 1/2 a tube of my serum, but it was time for my auto shipment even though I really wasn't ready for it. Bam! another $135. (side note**my R&F rep was kind enough to postpone the auto shipment, "Thanks SG!") While at my supply store I came across Babe Lash! For a fraction of the cost of Latisse, Revitalash and Lash Boost I decided to give Babe Lash a whirl. After just a few weeks using Babe Lash I had people asking me where I had my lash extensions done! Not only does Babe Lash work really well and is much much cheaper than its competitors, it also has a much better applicator, in my opinion. I also prefer the consistency of the Babe Lash serum over the Lash Boost serum. With Lash Boost, the consistency was more gel-like and I felt like it left behind a thin crust between my lashes, which was tricky to scrub off without losing lashes. Babe Lash has a super fine applicator brush and goes on a little more like liquid than a gel. I'd say Babe Lash is definitely a WINNER and should be tried by all who desire longer lashes! Babe Lash is available for $60 at Elevations Hair Design. In closing, I will mention that I have no affiliation with Babe as a company, other than the fact that I use and like their products on myself and my clients. These are my before any lash serum, during Lash Boost and current photos using Babe Lash. I have battled bad skin for decades, starting with pubescent “T-zone” acne, straight through to adult acne. I've been on antibiotics, medicated creams, TV and drugstore products; everything short of Accutane which is scarier that shit in my opinion. Interestingly enough, I didn’t have food sensitivities and IBS-like symptoms until after being on antibiotics for my skin for months and months. In my opinion, while minimized one type of acne, the antibiotic inadvertently created a whole new monster! My most recent bout with acne was painful and embarrassing cystic acne on my jawline and neck. It’s looked inflamed and angry. After indulging in a pretty wheat/gluten heavy vacation in the Caribbean, my skin was a MESS! Not only was my skin a mess but my stomach was bloated and distended. It occurred to me that I was having an allergic reaction to the wheat/gluten I was consuming. Due to a nutrition program that I was on months prior to vacation I had been eliminating/reducing carbs (i.e. Wheat/gluten products). My skin prior to the trip was pretty clear and I was looking forward to NOT caking on makeup in the humid, tropical weather. So fast forward, after being home and off gluten for a couple weeks my skin did improve slightly, but it was still experiencing intermittent cystic breakouts. Around this time a Make Artist/Esthetician girlfriend of mine suggested that I find a face wash with papaya and pineapple enzymes. I found there are plenty papaya/pineapple products out there, but they were too expensive (or too cheap), so I concocted a toner/mask myself. I put a peeled, pitted papaya, and half a cored pineapple in a food processor, and puréed them. I steamed and washed my face with “Simple” face wash in the shower (“Simple” skin products around $6 at drugstore), and applied this “toner/mask” post shower with a cotton ball all over my face, let it dry for 20 or so minutes, rinsed and moisturize with “Simple” face cream. Note** you do not need to sit there trying to balance chunks of purée on your face, just the juice will do. I’m not gonna lie, it stung a little at first, but I powered through it. I noticed immediately the inflammation and redness was reduced. I used it a few times a week for starters, then gradually once or twice per week. Months later I took it a step further and started using a Clarisonic face brush (expensive, but AMAZING) in the shower with Simple face wash, then applying the toner/mask post shower, waiting, rinsing and moisturizing. My skin has been amazing lately and I feel totally confident going out in public now without a stitch of coverup! For work and play, I’ve totally been able to wear a lightweight CC cream for my daily “concealer” and it’s been really liberating! Things that helped MY skin: #1 gluten free diet #2 papaya and pineapple enzyme mask #3 Clarisonic face brush ~IMPORTANT~ do your skin a favor if you use a face brush (or washcloth), MAKE SURE YOU DISINFECT OR SANITIZE the brush head before EVERY use! Bacteria can build up on brushes (and washcloths) that can infect your skin if you are prone to acne! What are the benefits of papaya and pineapple in your skin? Papaya is nutrient and antioxidant rich Heals skin, and has antibacterial properties Reduces scarring, clears pigmentation Moisturizes, hydrates and nourishes skin Repairs damaged skin Is a natural exfoliant (removes dead skin cells in a non-abrasive way) Boosts collagen production and promotes elasticity and firmness Pineapple is full of antioxidants that prevent cell damage and fight against free radicals. Has Anti-inflammatory properties Treats swelling and irritation Increases collagen synthesis Contains vitamin C and amino acids Natural Exfoliant Hydrates skin Anyway, just thought I’d share. Hopefully this information and/or some variation of this regimen will help you or someone you know. I know there were times that I would have tried just about anything to clear my skin up. I am grateful to have found something that works for me and hope it will work for others too. |
