If you’ve been searching for tape-in hair extensions in Portland, you’ve probably noticed there are a lot of different brands and weft styles available. After working with hair extensions for many years, I’ve tried quite a few of them.

Today, I exclusively use Babe Hair Extensions because they consistently deliver the best quality, color selection, and long-term wear for my clients at Elevations Hair Design in Portland, Oregon.

Many extension brands look beautiful right out of the package, but quickly become dry, dull, or tangled after a few weeks. Some even arrive with a strange chemical smell, which can be surprising considering they are labeled as 100% human hair.

Babe Hair Extensions have been the most reliable brand I’ve worked with. The hair feels soft and natural from the start and maintains that quality through multiple wear cycles when properly cared for. The color range is also excellent, from deep brunettes to bright blondes and beautifully blended dimensional shades.

Tape-in extensions have become one of the most requested extension services in Portland because they are lightweight, discreet, and comfortable to wear.

When professionally installed, tape-ins lay flat against the scalp and blend seamlessly with your natural hair.

How Many Tape-In Extensions Do You Need?
The number of extensions needed depends on your hair density and goals.

Most clients need 3-4 packs (30-40 wefts total) to create a full transformation.

If you already have longer hair and simply want to add thickness, one pack (20 wefts) may be enough.

But I am definitely a "less is more" kinda of gal, as long as we can get away with it.  Most people don't have super thick, super long hair. We want these to look natural!

What to Expect When Getting Tape-In Extensions
If you decide to move forward after your consultation, I require a $200 non-refundable deposit for the hair, which is applied to the final cost of your hair purchase.

Once ordered, the hair typically arrives within about five days, and we will schedule your application appointment.

Tape-in extensions require maintenance appointments every 6–8 weeks, where the extensions are removed, re-taped, and reinstalled.  This appointment typically takes between 1.5-2 hours.  After the extensions are removed, the adhesive residue is stripped, the hair is clarified and dried.  The extensions are re-taped and reapplied.

When installed and maintained properly, they can create a beautiful, natural look that many clients absolutely love!

I have also used just a smidge (like a pea size) of the this as a leave in conditioner, applied while my hair is wet. Mind. Blown. 
On the flip side, Olaplex No.8 (Intense Repair Moisture Mask) will give you the same or very similar results except this a the DIY home version of the product.  It comes in a 3.3 fl. oz. bottle and costs about $30.  Again, I'd recommend using the No.4 clarifying shampoo, ALSO AROUND $30, first and then follow up with the moisture mask for 10+ min.
