1. WHAT MAKES ELEVATIONS HAIR DESIGN A BOUTIQUE SALON EXPERIENCE?
Unlike high-volume salons, Elevations Hair Design is a bright, private studio in SW Portland designed for a one-on-one salon experience. It's a calm environment where you can truly relax. Think soft music, lush greenery, and a cozy space that feels more like a retreat than a typical salon. A place where you can step away from the chaos of everyday life.
2. HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE CAN I EXPECT AT THE SALON DURING MY APPOINTMENT?
Elevations does share space with another independent salon entity, but Mondays and Tuesdays are typically just you and me! You'll have a private, one-on-one experience where you can chat or simply zone out. On Wednesdays the studio is a little more lively, but still maintains a chill vibe. If having the space to yourself is more your jam, Mondays and Tuesdays are for you!
3. DO YOU OFFER SILENT APPOINTMENTS?
Sure! If you'd prefer a quiet appointment with chitchat, just sit back and relax while I work. Just give me a heads-up when you arrive. No explanation needed. Some clients like to close their eyes, pop in earbuds, scroll their phone, or just enjoy the peace and quiet. It's your appointment!
4. HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
You can book online anytime. My schedule shows availability for the next four weeks. You can also leave a voicemail or send a text to (503) 244-1529. If you don't see an opening that works, reach out and I can add you to the cancellation list. A credit card is required to secure all appointments booked online.
I do recommend that existing clients book their next appointment(s) before leaving to secure future dates/times that work best for them.
5. WILL I RECEIVE MESSAGES ABOUT MY APPOINTMENT?
Yes! Confirmation and reminder messages are automatically sent via text and/or email so you never have to worry about forgetting your appointment. If you'd prefer not to receive them, just let me know and you can opt out.
6. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. 48 hours is even better. Since I'm a one-person, appointment-only salon, a late cancellation or no-show means an empty chair for that time slot. Late cancellations and no-shows are subject to the following fees:

I am available Monday through Wednesday, 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM, by appointment only. I don't accept walk-ins, so every client gets my full, undivided attention for their entire visit. If none of the available times online work for you, feel free to reach out and I'll do my best to accommodate.
8. WHERE IS THE SALON LOCATED? IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?
Elevations Hair Design is located at 4475 SW Scholls Ferry Rd, Suite 266, Portland, OR 97225, in the Raleigh Hills neighborhood of SW Portland. We are on the second floor of the West Hills Plaza. Look for "Elevations Hair Design" on the canvas awning, our door is just below it on the second floor.
There's a large, free parking lot shared with Raleigh Hills McMenamins; no meters, no garages, no circling the block.
9. HOW MUCH DO HAIRCUTS COST?
Haircuts start at $40, up to $85 based on hair length, thickness, and the complexity of the cut. Every haircut includes a consultation so we can talk through what you're looking for and what will work best for your hair type, face shape, and lifestyle. 10. HOW MUCH DO COLOR SERVICES COST?
Color services start at $75 for Express Color Service and increase based on the technique, product used, and the amount of time and product involved. Pricing can fluctuate based on product usage and material costs. If you'd like a more specific estimate, feel free to reach out before your appointment for brief consultation. I can not give estimates without seeing you first, but I will do my best to give you as accurate of an estimate as I can during an in person consultation.
11. WHAT IS EXPRESS COLOR?
The 10-minute color service is a quick, efficient option for root touch-ups or grey blending when you're short on time. It uses professional Paul Mitchell and Schwarzkopf products and is designed for clients with busy schedules who still want to keep their color looking fresh and polished without spending hours in the chair. Express color starts at $75.
12. WHAT COLOR LINES DO YOU USE?
I work with Schwarzkopf Professional, Paul Mitchell Professional Hair Color, and Redken Shades EQ. Each line has different strengths, and I choose the best option based on your hair goals, condition, and the results we're going for. If you have a preference or have had good results with a specific brand in the past, just let me know.
13. DO YOU HAVE AMMONIA-FREE COLOR OPTIONS?
Yes. Upon request and consultation, some zero-ammonia color options are available. These are a great choice for clients with sensitive skin, scalp sensitivities, or allergy concerns. If you've ever had a reaction to hair color in the past, let me know so we can discuss the best options for you.
14. DO YOU OFFER BALAYAGE?
Yes! I specialize in balayage using a foiling technique that creates natural, sun-kissed dimension. Balayage is customized to your hair color, length, and the look you're going for, whether that's subtle, low-maintenance, or somewhere in between. Balayage starts at $170, and a consultation is included at the start of your appointment to make sure we're on the same page.
15. DO YOU OFFER TAPE-IN HAIR EXTENSIONS?
Yes, I offer tape-in hair extensions for clients looking to add length, volume, or both. A free consultation is required before your first extension appointment so we can discuss your goals, choose the right color match, and make sure tape-ins are the best fit for your hair type. 16. WHAT STYLING PRODUCTS DO YOU USE AND SELL?
I use and retail Moroccanoil and Color Wow, two lines I trust and personally love. Moroccanoil is great for smoothing, hydration, and manageability, while Color Wow is excellent for color-treated hair, humidity protection, and lightweight styling. If you find a product you love during your appointment, you can take it home.
17. WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
I accept credit cards, Venmo, Zelle, and cash. Whatever is easiest for you.
